So, most of our athletes are wrapping up the season or into their final tri-tapers. We have some athletes preparing for fall endurance running events. But, here is our August and September wrap ups…
Duane Amato, our resident Masters stud brought home even more PR’s and finishes of an age group wins at The Traverse City Triathlon(5th year in a row and this year was fastest), Boyne City Duathlon(12th overall) and Tawas Sprint(10th overall). He also took 2nd in his AG at the Michigan Sr. Olympics with a new PR of 1:13. Great year for Duane and he is happy as can be to be continuing to set new PR’s in his 60’s.
Eric Buckhave, “Mr. Consistency” showed up at the Tawas Festival and brought home a 7th place overall finish for 2nd in his AG.
Ali Schwein wrapped up the season with a Junior Win at the Belle Isle Draft Legal, Jr. Elite race. She also won the “premes” for fastest junior female swim/bike and runs collecting her nice prizes from the USAT region.
Coach Janelle returned from ITU cross worlds and wrapped up the season with as XTerra Mideast 30-34 AG champion as well as the Tailwind Series Category winner. She also traveled to the Copper Harbor MTB festival and brought home an AG win. All in great preparation for a go at a podium position at Iceman this November. She also competed at the Epic Xterra Race weekend in DeGray’s Lake and brought home a 2nd OVERALL female in the long course race. Congrats to her.
